ANIMAL CRUELTY CHARGES FOR HORSE OWNERS IN SUNBURY
A Sunbury couple is facing serious animal cruelty charges after an investigation into conditions at their property. Samantha Marie and Edward Snyder are accused of neglecting dozens of horses found underfed and living in poor conditions. Authorities say several animals were emaciated, lacked proper shelter, and had frozen water sources. At least one horse had to be euthanized. Officials removed multiple horses from the property. Both now face felony and misdemeanor charges, with a preliminary hearing set for May 16.
DRIVER FLEES CRASH SCENE
State police are investigating a crash in Lycoming County after a driver left the scene. It happened Sunday around 1:30 p.m. along Route 220 north in the 2800 block. Emergency crews say a vehicle struck a guardrail, but when they arrived, the driver was nowhere to be found. Officials say most of the damage was to the front end, and there’s no word yet on injuries. The cause of the crash and the driver’s identity remain under investigation.
CITY LEADERS APPROVE DOWNTOWN PARKING LOT SALE

MIDDLEBURG MAN SENTENCED, BUT WILL BE RELEASED
A Middleburg man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to strangulation. Will W. Brunson, admitted to assaulting a woman last July and was sentenced to 23 months in county jail, followed by five years of probation. According to the Daily Item, he’s eligible for immediate release after already serving 151 days. The court also ordered fines, community service, and treatment. A judge emphasized that victim safety comes first, adding Brunson must stay away from the victim unless granted permission by probation officials.
SUSPECT THREATENS MAN AND HIS CHILDREN WITH A BRICK
A Tharptown man is facing charges after police say he threatened a local business owner and his children. According to the News Item, authorities say Neil Haddock entered the Tharptown General Store on April 16 carrying a brick and later confronted owner Mark Shingara at his home. Police say Haddock threatened to hit Shingara and his children with the brick before leaving the area. He is now charged with disorderly conduct.
FINGERPRINTING LOCATION APPROVED BY COMMISSIONERS

Commissioners approved a new central processing center at Hepburn Plaza on Hepburn Street, offering more space and easier public access.
