POLICE WARN OF KEY FOB SCAM
Lock Haven police are warning drivers about a growing car-theft scam called key fob cloning, where thieves steal your vehicle without breaking in. Criminals can capture a fob’s wireless signal with an antenna or program a new fob through the car’s computer, allowing them to drive off silently in seconds. Police urge drivers to lock their cars, keep fobs away from doors and windows, use steering-wheel locks, and store fobs in Faraday bags that block signals. They also recommend OBD locks for high-risk vehicles.
HUGHESVILLE BOY RECOGNIZED FOR QUICK THINKING DURING FIRE
A little hero from Hughesville is getting big praise from firefighters across Pennsylvania. Five-year-old Owen Seitzer was looking out his family’s front window in April when he spotted smoke and flames pouring from a neighbor’s home. He ran to tell his dad, who called 911 — a quick action that helped save the family’s two dogs and alerted the neighborhood. The Sun Gazette says Owen has since received two civilian humanitarian awards, including a standing ovation at a statewide firefighters’ conference. His parents say he didn’t realize he was being a Good Samaritan — he just spoke up. But his community says his sharp eyes made all the difference.

Her attorney says the cause of death remains undetermined, but police noted seven children were in the home and Suboxone packets were within reach.
LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD WILL HANDLE CITY NOISE ISSUES AT BARS
Williamsport City Council has taken the first step to shift noise enforcement at bars and restaurants to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. The city voted on first reading to repeal its local noise ordinance, which limited outdoor music hours and required police or code officers to measure decibel levels. Zoning administrator Gary Knarr says the PLCB now allows amplified outdoor music and will handle noise regulation statewide, easing the burden on city staff. Council members say the change eliminates yearly paperwork and keeps enforcement consistent across licensed establishments.

Local lawmakers and business leaders praised the move, saying the hands-on training is what employers need and can lead students straight into family-sustaining careers.
