Metallica opened its Las Vegas residency at the Sphere on October 1 with a set that reached across several eras of the band’s catalog.
During the opening night of the Life Burns Faster residency, the group performed songs including Battery, Creeping Death, Sad but True, Nothing Else Matters, Ride the Lightning, Seek & Destroy, and Master of Puppets. The concert also featured the return of Now That We’re Dead, played live for the first time since 2021, along with …And Justice for All, which had not appeared in a Metallica set since 2014.
The residency brings the band’s No Repeat Weekend format to the Sphere, with different setlists planned across paired Thursday and Saturday performances. That setup gives fans attending multiple nights a chance to hear a broader selection of songs.
Metallica’s Las Vegas run is scheduled to include 24 performances through March 2027. The shows pair the band’s live production with the Sphere’s large-scale visual displays and immersive audio system.
