TENNIS French Open
Men’s – The 24-time major champion, Novak Djokovic, overcame the windy, wet weather in Paris yesterday and had a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 victory over 98th-ranked Mackie McDonald of the US in the first round Tuesday.
Women’s – Coco Gauff caused a brief and amusing delay at the French Open on Tuesday when she arrived on the court without her rackets. A ball boy ran out minutes later carrying them to her.
After that, the No. 2-seeded Gauff went on to defeat Australia’s Olivia Gadecki 6-2, 6-2 in her opening match.
The American jokingly blamed her coach for the missing rackets and posted a To-Do list on X after the match that had “Pack Tennis Rackets in bag” unchecked on the list.
