UBLIC CAN COMMENT ON MD GUARD AIRSPACE ISSUE UNTIL MAY 17
Public comment over the controversial proposal by the Maryland Air National Guard to lower the altitude of training fighter jets over the Pennsylvania Wilds is open until May 17th. According to Spotlight PA, military officials claim the change for the threshold to be as low as 100 feet will not have a significant impact on the area. The Shapiro administration stated the military’s finding of no significant impact is flawed. The email and physical addresses to use for your comments can be found in the news section on any backyard broadcasting website. The guard currently operates at 8,000 feet above sea level and higher over all or part of Cameron, Clinton, Elk, McKean, Potter, and Tioga Counties in north-central Pennsylvania. Public comments can be emailed to [email protected], or mailed to Kristi Kucharek, National Guard Bureau, 3501 Fetchet Avenue, Joint Base Andrews, MD 20762-5157.
