GOVERNOR WARNS SOME WHO DEFY ORDERS
In Governor Wolf’s address to the Commonwealth Monday, he delivered a serious warning to those who are defiant of the administration’s response to the virus and seek to reopen in areas where there are still red designations. Governor Wolf said counties who follow the orders put in place by him and the health department will benefit from funding <<<WOLF 1 NO FUNDS FOR YOU>>> Wolf says that we should not surrender to the enemy virus when we are winning by flattening the curve and not overwhelming the health system.  Beaver County in the western side of PA and much of the southeastern part of the state are still under stay at home orders until June 4, Lycoming County was one of the first counties in the state to transition,  13 western Counties join us this Friday at midnight.

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH UPDATE
Five new deaths have been reported in Lycoming County as of Monday according to Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr.  He told the Sun Gazette that the persons had numerous health problems in addition to the COVID-19 diagnosis.  The total in the county now stands at 9.  One new case was reported here bringing the total count to 131.  The state wide total of cases is at 57,154 and only 543 new cases reported in Pennsylvania.

WILLIAMSPORT GOVERNMENT STILL MOSTLY SHUTTERED
City Hall remains closed to the public, except for the codes offices since there is CDC guidelines in place to visit that location according to Mayor Derel Slaughter.. The Sun Gazette reports that taxes can still be dropped off at the metal box outside of City Hall, and that City Council’s public meetings are being held by Zoom remote technology.

RECYCLING COMES BACK TO SOME LOCATIONS
Several regular recycling sites will reopen tomorrow while adhering to a new normal.  Sites in Williamsport, Hughesville Borough, Jersey Shore Borough, Loyalsock Township and South Williamsport  will be the first  and officials from Lycoming County Resource Management say masks still need to be worn at the facilities and plastic bags used need to be taken back home.  Also, if anyone in the household has tested positive for the coronavirus, recyclables should be thrown away.  Inbound recyclables will be combined by fibers, paper, broken down cardboard – plastic bottles, jars, tin, steel, aluminum; and glass bottles separated by color.

MAN ATTACKED BY COW
An Elimsport man reported to be in his 70s was injured by a cow attack on Monday at an Amish farm along Route 44.  According to the Sun Gazette, family members of the man were with the man who was delivering the cow to another farmer when it got spooked.  Firefighters from Elimsport and Clinton Township arrived at the scene around 12:30 Monday.  The 1000 pound animal had been placed in a pen – the man was concous and was taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

SOIL REMEDIATION TAKING PLACE TOMORROW NEAR TROUT RUN
Penn DOT has reported that Motorists who plan to travel on Route 15 northbound through Lewis Township, in Lycoming County tomorrow will see the soil remediation project to restore the areas after a previous tractor trailer crash.  Crews will be at mile marker 148, approximately a quarter mile north of the Trout Run exit between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with  the left passing lane closed.

NBA
The NBA draft that is still scheduled for June 25  will probably happen in late August or early September. Sources say the reason is the NBA needs to finish its’ season  – and they are possibly looking to do that in late August or early September.

NFL

Dr. Anthony Fauci says people gathering to watch football is the perfect set up to spread the coronavirus,  so he’s urging testing before the NFL season begins on September 10.  As a key member of the White House task force, Dr. Fauci says the league has time on its side since there’s several months until the season begins.

Major league baseball owners agreed  on a proposal  that baseball could come back around the Fourth of July without fans.
Each team would play 82 regular season games, postseason play would be expanded from 10 clubs to 14 –  by doubling wild cards in each league to four. The All-Star game in Los Angeles July would likely be called off
